The Toy Show Quality is an exclusive Group 3 race for fillies and mares only held as part of the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival. The event is a quality handicap that takes center stage at the Warwick Farm Racecourse in Sydney every year in August. The Toy Show Quality is one of the major Group 3 Sprint races and is run over a distance of 1300M.
The race last year was taken by Hidden Kisses after outclassing a field of able contenders to finish strong in first. Coming in second and third respectively was Royal Decent and Queens’s Elect. The Toy Show Quality has a great history of brilliant horse racing. The event was duly rewarded last year when it was upgraded from a listed event to a Group 3 showpiece and even in the 2014 edition, horse trainers and jockeys are looking forward to a highly competitive and exciting race at the Warwick Far Racecourse.
The Toy Show Quality is today worth a remarkable $175,000 in prize money and features along a number of exciting races on the same day including the Group 2 Warwick Stakes. In recent years, the Toy Show Quality has attracted talented fillies and mares of equal abilities and in most cases the event always produces a surprise winner. A number of great sprinters though have emerged from the race. Notable names include Dystopia who finished second on the Toy Show Quality on course towards a third place finish in the Group 2 Theo Mark Stakes.
Crafty Irna back in 2012 and Skytrain in 2011 are also some outstanding mares to have graced the Toy Show Quality in recent years. The event is seen as a great build up for other mares and fillies races in the carnival and also, the race provides a great test for emerging sprinters before they can venture in other bigger races.
