The Sir John Monash Stakes is one of the major Group 3 sprint races in the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. The race is held every year in July at Melbourne’s Caulfield Racecourse in Victoria, South East Australia. Run over a distance of 1100M, the Sir John Monash Stakes is actually the first sprint race of the Melbourne Spring and is today worth up to $120,000 in prize money.
