This week, the 2018 Randwick Guineas is set to steal the show in Sydney. Attendees will seea top field of three-year-old milers facing off in the autumn classic. The race will be held at Royal Randwick Racecourse on Saturday 10 March.

This race is the Sydney Autumn Carnival’s first Group One event for 3YOs. Unfortunately, this event clashes withAustralian Guineas at Flemington. This means that this event will probably not attract the best 3YOS from both states.

1. Ace High

Trainer: David Payne

Weight: 56.5kg

Thishorse is a multiple G1 winner. In his career, he has taken outthe Champion Stakes and the VRC Derby in the spring. This horse is certainly a class galloper based on his achievements. Despite being a couple of furlongs short of his best trip, this horse is still worthy of including in the top contenders for this race.

Over the course of his career, he has amassed $1,423,075. Hence, this racehorse can be considered top inits class. On 4th Nov 2017, he scored hismost significant win by getting the money in the $1,500,000 Aami Victoria Derby.

2. Trapeze Artist

Trainer: Gerald Ryan

Weight: 56.6kg

This is theG1 Golden Rose winner from the previous spring. Now, he has returned to Randwick Guineas in what seems to be his best form. He won phenomenally in the Expressway Stake. Although so, this horse may be more suited forover 1200-1400. Despite that, he is still worth the risk.

Over the course of its career, it has amassed $1,091,350 in career earnings. Hence, this horse is also among the elite contenders in this race. On 23rd Sep 2017, it won its most significant win bygetting the money in the $1,000,000 De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose.

3. Kementari

Trainer: James Cummings

Weight: 56.5kg

So far, this is one of the race favoritesand it isdeservedly so. This is especially as it was a dominant winner in both starts this preparation. In his previous races, he could easily overpower his rivals. He certainly makes for one of the best contenders in this race.

So far, it haswon at Group Two level and has amassed $766,250 in career earnings. From this, we can see thatKementari has real potential to find itself on the top in this race. It won its largest win to date on 24th Feb 2018 by getting the money in the $400,000 Hobartville Stakes.

In Melbourne’s Group 1 Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas last October, he finisheda close second to Mighty Boss. The extra distance that it has to run this Saturday will not be a problem.
